Voices Together is the new hymnal and worship book for Mennonite Church USA and Mennonite Church Canada. In a cruel irony, it was published in the midst of the Covid pandemic that made singing together dangerous. On Saturday, June 11 we had the opportunity to learn more about how the 759 songs and 310 non-musical resources can enrich the worship of our congregation as Sarah Johnson and Adam Tice, two of the editors of VT, presented two workshops and lead a song festival.

Ted Grimsrud joined PMC for a Q&A based on his March 3rd blog post: Thinking as an American Pacifist about the Russian Invasion. The post can be found at Ted’s blog, www.thinkingpacifism.net. The high school youth at PMC have spent two years struggling to find ways to be together safely. During the weekend of April 1-3 they finally got to spend time together during a special "spring retreat" in Canby. Micah 6.8 He has told you, O mortal, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God? Burt left the best voicemails ever... We will miss him so much!
On Monday night, March 14th, PMC rented out the skating rink at Oaks Park Amusement Park. It was a fun evening of celebrating our friendships and catching up. Maybe we should do this every year? Let us know in the comments.
Dear friends and family,
This is just a short note to let you know that after a whirlwind week or two of wrapping things up in Portland I've arrived at Holden Village, with a special thanks to Linda W. who took it upon herself to see me off on a good start including driving me all the way up to Chelan and seeing me off on the ferry. It's magical. Attached are a few pictures of the ferry ride and the Village following a winter storm that delayed my arrival but made everything really amazingly beautiful. Thank you all for your well wishes over the past few weeks and for the lovely reception to send me off on my last Sunday at PMC! I love the colors in the quilt and I will treasure that gift along with your kind words and friendships. My new address is: Rachel Joy 11155 Railroad Creek FS 8301 Rd Chelan, WA 98816-9001 And, if you want to receive updates, email me at [email protected] as I'll try to write notes from time to time. Peace and blessings, Rachel |
